Vimeo Trumps Youtube
If you haven't heard of Vimeo, then I highly encourage that you head over there and check it out. After Stage6 closed down, I looked around for another type of higher quality youtube service without with all junk thats posted on their site. Vimeo came to the rescue. Not only are most of their videos in HD (yes try streaming it), you can actually download the original files as well for higher quality playback on your computer.
Last night I went to the Koerners Pub in UBC to watch Matt play a few songs. I went down with Jason, Joe and Ravi from the CPC. I thought I'd test out my new Sony Ericsson k850i phone's video quality. This morning I noticed that you can also email videos from your phone, DIRECTLY to your vimeo account. So I figured i'd give it a try. It took about 5 minutes from the time I sent it from my phone, to being posted online. Very cool stuff. And their encoding quality is AWESOME!
