WMRC Race #2
Jason invited me to join him this past Sunday at the Mission raceway for the WMRC Race #2. I used my new 17-55 2.8 IS for the first few shots, then got to use Jasons 70-200 2.8 IS, as he was playing around with his new 300 2.8!
First time shooting motorsports for me. I've done weddings in the past, and when people say that weddings go fast, obviously they've never tried to shoot a sportbike flying past you at over 200km/h+!!
I took over 550 shots on sunday, and my ratio of 'keepers' is about 1:7 (that is one good shot for every 7 I took), which really isin't that bad. I would say if you're looking at extremely nice and sharp shots right out of the camera, I'd put it around 1:15!. But it was a great learning experience. Even after shooting as much as I have, I still learnt a ton which can be put to good use in the future.
The above picture is my fav out of the bunch, and was taken down the long straight. That was probably the hardest shot to get as they are just flying down that stretch.
