"Would you like extended warrenty with that?"
Normally, you'd say no. This time I'm glad we said yes.
Back in Dec 21st '01, we purchased our Pioneer HDTV. A behemoth of a TV and not to mention expensive at the time, I vaguely remember telling my dad to purchased the extended warrenty. Fast foward 5 years (present). The TV has been slowly started to act up. There has been some 'flickering' that is noticeable, and lately its been getting progessively worse. So I did some research, and came across this thread on avsforum.com. Just breaking over 30 pages long, there seems to be a bunch of people who have had the same issue with several of this monitors in the same series. Cold soulder problem.
So I did some digging, and volia. We purchased 6yr extended warrenty. Expiry is up Dec '07. So I've got a call in for some Pioneer techs to come in sometime next week to do some tweaking. Needless to say i'm glad, as last time I call them to get a cleaning done, I was told it was not covered under warrenty. I've been told that cleaning the lens inside will make huge difference. Hopefully the guys will get the TV all tweaked up, and back to normal condition.
