Sorry where are you calling from?
So yesterday, I got yet another interesting calling at work.
The number showed up as a California number on the callerid, as I answered it. The women, was calling from a company in the states, regarding a company we deal with up here for their credit reference.
After giving her some info, she asked for one last question, which was what the companies highest invoice was with us. I told her the amount, mentioning that it was in 'Canadian Currency'. Then the call went something like this:
Her: "Canadian Currency?" I: "yes" H: "hm, and what do you use up there?" I: "What do we use up here? Sorry I don't understand" H: "Like do you use libra or pounds?" I: "Sorry where are you calling from again?" H: "The USA" I: "And you don't know what we use here in Canada?" H: "No we use US dollar here" I: "And we use C-A-N-A-D-I-A-N Dollar here" H: "ohhhhhhh, okay thanks"
Wow, I couldn't believe it. Are people in the US still that ignorant? You'd think the person dealing with accounts at a extremely large steel distributor would have the faintest idea about what type of currency is used in Canada.
Had my mind been thinking a little quicker (it was early in the morning), I would of replied as the boys next door said "tell her we use Beaver Pelts, lumber, and shellfish, and that we also live in igloos".
