Road Trip
So my parents have timeshare up at the Banff Rocky Mountain Resort, and lately they usually just sell off the week they have up there, but this year they weren't able to. So seeing as Natisha is off to Montreal to visit a old friend, and I don't have much to do this weekend, I thought, WTH. I asked almost everyone possible, but it seems like everyone already has plans, or just too cool to go, so I thought it would be another 'soul-searching trip'.
Luckily, my pops is letting me take friday off, and only half day tomorrow, so tomorrow at noon, I head out to Banff, solo.
I just gave my car a fresh oil change last week with a full flush, and today I had Sig Mazda rotate my tires, do an all around inspection, and also flush my engine coolant/antifreeze, and some other stuff, so she's in tiptop condition to go.
The farthest I've been in my protege is Whistler, so this will be a real treat, specially also being the only personal in the car (ie: lighter). My plan is to boot straight up to Banff, hopefully get there by 12am, sleep, and depending on how tired I am, either do a half day or full day hike.
Friday, probably the same thing, half or full day hike, along with Sat (depending on how tired I am). I've been looking online at hikes to do, and there are SO many there, I'm just trying to find the good ones.
I've also searched online and seen a few clubs in Banff, and seeing that its long weekend, might poke my nose in to take a look.
I plan to leave Banff on Sunday, but come back via Golden/Castlegar/Creston as i've never come down that route before. I'll probably find some campground where I can put up tent, crash a night under the stars, then continue on my way back on Monday (in all the rest of the traffic).
It should be a interesting trip, the last one I took was back in grade 12 (almost 8 yrs ago!) which I took my '94 ford escort wagon (94hp baby!) and drove up to Prince George to visit my bro.
My camera is coming with me, so you can imagine a lot of pics during the journey! See you when I get back!
PS: I hate dirty windows, so i've got a bottle of windex, and a roll of bounty under my seat.
