Running Scared
Let me set things 'straight'. I'm not gay, but I like Paul Walker. Not in the way some of your minds think, but as a actor. Sure his acting was a little off in his first few movies (FFF, FFF2), but with any actor they are bound to get better. Into the Deep got better, and it had nothing to do with Jessica Alba (it was the diving I swear!).
Tonight Nat and I went to check out Running Scared. Now when I saw the first few trailers I was kinda intrigued with the whole 'mob' scene, etc etc. Then I heard he was releasing another movie, Eight Below. 2 Movies in one month, impressive. Also two totally different movies and two completely different roles. But one being more about shoot-em-up action we decided on Running Scared (Nat thinks he's cute, so I got the bonus to seeing the movie with guns!).
Now I heard a review on the radio today that just totally shunned the movie to the curb. I was extremely flabbergasted, and couldn't believe it was that bad. So I did a little reading after work (during work?) and heard how even Paul Walker believed the movie was "intense", much more than any of his previous work. Quentin Tarantino even says that "no matter what you read or hear, nothing will quite prepare you for the thrust and viscera of this night at the movies. Ths is film making from the pelvis."
Let me say he was CORRECT. This movie totally surprised me to say the least. I completely didn't anticipate half the things that happened in this movie. Took me by complete surprise. Not to mention his (PW) acting was way above his normal realm. I must warn you in advance, if your thinking of seeing this movie based on his previous 'pretty boy' movies, I kid you not, you will be in for a surprise. This movie is gory, and very action packed. Not to mention some things that will make you say "WTF?".
I haven't sat in a theatre after a movie going "wow", but this one did it for me. 10/10 for Running Scared. You can believe it will be added to my DVD collection once out.
PS: They do include the first 6 mins of the movie on the website, but if your planning on seeing the movie, i'd rather you see it in the theatre, not on your monitor.
