20D Upgrade

Well I knew it was bound to happen. Yesterday at the PMA 2006 show, Canon released the upgrade to the 18 month old 20D, the new and improved 30D.

Luckly there isin't a HUGE amount of improvements, but some small ones that I wish my 20D had. The biggest is the ISO visable in the viewfinder, and second is the bigger LCD screen (2.5 over 1.8). The shutter life is also extended to 100,000 pics which is nice, over the 50,000 currently. Few other options avaliable as well, more details at dpreview.com.

Again nothing I would remotely think of upgrading to (at least not now), but this drops the price on the current 20D, which is good because of Blacks 60day price protection I'll probably get around $120 bucks back.

Some other releases by Canon include the new S3, and a variety of new lens. A new EF-S 17-55mm 2.8 IS, and also a SWEET 85mm 1.2 L (which is close to $2500!). Compare that to my 50mm 1.8 that cost me $100.
