Eclipse 500

Eclipse 500So I finished my last class of ground school today. I did miss a few so I'll still drop back in for those as the whole rotation starts again, and maybe go by some Saturday classes just to keep everything fresh in my head till my exam.

Todd (ground school instructor) was talking about a new company called Eclipse Aviation. They are trying to change the way of flying with a new type of jet. The 500 Jet (picture above) is manufactured with advanced, high volume manufacturing techniques. The engines are also brand new, and extremely small. One person had asked them who would be supplying parts for the engine if needed, and they said they would only do so at their one location in New Mexico. They said if there was a problem they would FEDEX you a new engine, as they are so SMALL and light. FREAKEN nuts. The cost of these planes run just under $1 million USD, which is CHEAP. Flight costs even cheaper. For what you would pay in a return flight to Vegas first class on Air Canada, you could pay the same amount in this plane. Also you can leave when you want as these planes will be used as charter/taxi. Pretty much limousine service in the air. If I had the money, this would be the plane I would buy.
