Ground School

Went up flying today... what a great day to fly, althought it was BLOODY hot in the cockpit. Can't they install A/C in these dinky 172's?

Anyhoo for Ground school today, we started on a field trip around the airport to check out some planes, and engines, etc etc. There was a few people outside of the terminal, and they said they were waiting for a friend who was coming back from his first solo flight.

Solo Flight: the first time a pilot goes up on his own. probably the one and only flight you ever remember. I figure this is cuz you're crappin' in your pants the whole time.

One thing I learned about your solo flight. Be prepared to get wet. They have a little "tradition" in our school, and that is when you get back, everyone is waiting with BAGS full of water, and the water hose (which is by the terminal door) to soak you down. Big time. This poor fellow got SOAKED by all his buddies on return. I guess a good way to cool off after your first solo flight.

Hmm... solo... I should hopefully be there within 2-3 weeks if i'm lucky...
