Happy Holidays & Merry Christmas!!!
Its been a while since I've updated. I actually had all of last week off work. I booked it off back in Feburary, and low and behold it finally came around. I actually ended up working on monday tho. This one girl I know however, really needed her monday off, and gave me a $50 gift certificate to use at Comor, so I used those towards my ski boots.
Tuesday: I was suppose to go skiing this day. I was really looking forward to it, because it was going to be the first time in 3 years. Unfort, high winds closed all the local mountains, so I couldn't go. The good think was the bad weather dropped around 24cm of fresh Monsta Powda. To end the day, I went and saw Lord of the Rings with the Divman. All I can say, is if you haven't seen this movie, GO and see it.
Wednesday: Woke up to a nice day outside, and headed up for Cypress Mnt. Vimal already went up with some friends earlier on, but I ended up meeting up with them. When I got up to the mountain, I was in luck with blue skies, and bright sun. Getting up on the chairlift for the first time in 3 years was the best feeling. The air up there is so clean, and fresh, I LOVE IT! After doing some final adjustments to my new boots, and straping up my new ski gear, I headed down the hill. The funny thing about skiing after 3 years, is my brain says to my muscles to do one thing, but my muscles say "ah no. we don't move like that". So it took me a little while just to get outa snowplow mode, and getting more back into intermediate mode for now at least.
After 2 runs, I saw Vimal on a chairlift, and met up with him and his friends at the top of the hill. Throughout the day I was able to get some of the skill back, but after a few hours, my quads were killing me, and my back was a little sore.
Thursday: I woke up to yet another blue sunny day, more so than the day before (it got cloudy yesterday). Although sore, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, so I suited up, and headed by myself to Mount Seymour, my home mountain. There was still plenty of powder in some area's, and nice groomed runs. The nice thing I like about Seymour is not only do I know the entire mountain, but there are lots of small little jumps everywhere, that I can learn on getting my skills back. In the evening, joined a few of Vimal's friends, and Nat and Smita, and went and saw Lord of the Rings, again.
Friday: I can't remember what I did.
Saturday: Headed over to Marty's place in the evening, as his brother returned from Japan, after spending 7 months there. Welcome back James!!
Sunday: I was suppose to head up to Whistler with Vimal, but he bailed at the last minute. I still drove up anyways, (nice blue skies) and met up with Jay, and a few of his friends. Unfort, my skills, hadn't returned enough to keep up with them, so I just took my time on some runs. Only thing I hate about Whistler is the fact that its all traffic. There is in fact, SO much traffic on the hills, it turns it all to ice, which personally sucks. I LOVE powder, which is much more fun to ski on.
Ahhh today. Worked for 4 hours this morning, suprisingly it was much more busier than I had figure. After I took Natisha to the airport, as she went back to Toronto for the week with her family. Funny enough she hasn't called me yet... Nat if you're reading this, call me!
Ananda and Anupurna are sleeping over today in hopes of seeing Santa Claus, in fact, they are calling me right now.... ttyl, and Merry Christmas everyone!!!
